Social Media
“Harnessing the power of social media to keep families informed and in touch with each other, through regular posts and talk shows. Families gain a new perspective on current events and reflect on lessons to build a better family.”
Ba Htoo Leh: Talk Show – a weekly talk show discussing recent news and cases in Myanmar. Families gain a new perspective on current events and reflect on lessons to build a better family. We post these talk shows on Facebook.
Family Tips video clips – short weekly clips with relevant tips about parenting and marriage for the families. We post these talk shows on Facebook.
Stories and encouragement – inspirational true stories or encouragement from some fathers and mothers.
ToT Training
We train those that have a passion in helping fathers and mothers to have stronger families. We started initially in Yangon and are extending this to other regions in Myanmar.
Seminars & Webinars
Since the Covid-19 pandemic, these have been mostly “Father’s Zoominars”, held twice a month, for free. Guest speakers give valuable insights to build up fathers and mothers. Some recent topics have included: having fun as a family, leaving a legacy by a healthy marriage, children’s education during a pandemic, managing family finances and staying healthy.
Survey & Research on Families
We plan to survey family behaviors, such as relationships between husband and wife, parents and children etc. This will be done with permission of the corresponding Government ministry. At present, research plans have been delayed due to Covid-19.
Book Translation & Publishing
We translate useful books and articles on families. In 2018, we translated and published a New York Times’ Best seller book, ‘Be A Better Dad Today’, written by author Gregory W. Slayton, into Myanmar language. This book is published through Today Book Publishing company. Other books are in progress of translation. We also have the aim to write our own resource materials relating to families in Myanmar.
